碧草如茵的家園，是湯姆瓊斯主唱的，國中時期很喜歡他唱歌的詮釋方式，那時並不是很在意歌詞的含意，後來才知道歌詞的意涵，也才知道有三種說法，如下：

一、four gray walls 四面灰色的牆壁，意指「棺木」。歌曲中的主角戰死沙場，被裝在棺木中運回家鄉，卻仍以為自己光榮返鄉，最終才意識到是一場夢，聽來令人悲傷莫名。
二、是死刑犯在槍決前一天晚上夢回故鄉的故事，因為最後一段敘述夢醒之後，牧師為他做最後禱告，警衛則準備押著他上刑場，而且整首歌完全沒有提到和軍隊相關的字眼。

三、在常春藤抒情老歌精選卡帶所附的歌本裡看到的翻譯：本曲乃敘述一名死囚在黎明槍決前，夢見自己的家鄉，一切都如此的美好，而夢醒時，卻發現原來自己還是在灰暗的囚室中，等待槍決的來臨，而且在英文歌詞的部分除了第一段的greet，它是用meet代替；還有And I realize that I was only dream-ing中的that，他是用yes以外；剩下都沒有不一樣的地方。
