Foreigner 外國人合唱團，成軍於70年代的硬式搖滾樂團，初期的幾張專輯反應相當不錯。1981年的專輯忽然大為暢銷，佔據專輯榜冠軍多時，深情單曲" Waiting for a girl like you 等待像你一樣的女孩 "在單曲榜亞軍位置待了九週。1984年的專輯再度發威，單曲" I want to know whatlove is "終於站上榜首。主唱 Lou Gramm 路葛蘭一直是備受樂評人稱許的搖滾嗓音，爆發力與柔情兼備。這首單曲剛錄製好時，製作人和團員都不甚滿意，後來有人提議加入大合唱，於是他們請來錄音地點當地著名的紐澤西彌撒合唱團前來助陣，頓時使這首歌跳脫世間男女情愛的層次，結果大家都非常滿意，推出後成為當年MTV頻道和電台播放率最高的單曲，這也是該團眾多暢銷曲中唯一的冠軍曲。
