《智者老矣》這首歌的詞曲，對逐漸年華逝去的我而言，有著深刻感觸；有著絲絲恐懼的氛圍，縈繞著……筆者當然是智者，筆者我確實也邁向老矣…那麼適合，歌詞一開始的極目遠望，感到接駁的亡靈們正朝我近，其實，這種字眼很讓人不寒而慄，尤其是確實人生已經開始走向下半場的人，那時當然對而別人的出言不遜我也不當一回事了，這很自然……，在我人生最低潮的時候，所幸有你共同分擔，因此在我走了以後，我會思念想你……，這也叫人非常感傷，我走了之後還能思念你嗎？有辦法思念嗎？等那天在霧靄難分之際，如那秋風一般迎面而來的憂傷字眼……正搖撼吹襲著我，我只能說這英翻中，譯得太好了，配合曲調之柔和淒戚落寞不可逆的人生舞台即將在我眼前落幕之際……最後一句真想看那最後一眼！我能體會那種感覺……從我以前寫的《懷秋・薄暮》與《生命的回顧》二篇文中，絕對可以體會的，因為我有過瀕臨死亡的經歷……。
