The Bells最早成立於1965年的加拿大蒙特婁市，當時團名為 The Five Bells，在出現首支暢銷曲〈Moody Manitoba morning〉後，由於女團員懷孕而造成團員小幅度更動，其中鍵盤手 Frank Mills 法蘭克米爾斯的加入，似乎帶給該團新的氣象，此時團名也由 The Five Bells 精簡為 The Bells，1971年的單曲〈Stay awhile〉是該團最成功的作品，是暢銷百萬張的金唱片，男女聲絮語般的溫柔對唱引人遐思，纏綿浪漫至極，而後該團雖仍有暢銷曲出現，卻再也無法超越此曲，至今仍傳唱不輟的作品，只有這首〈Stay awhile 〉。

後記：⋯⋯男女聲絮語般的溫柔對唱引人遐思，纏綿浪漫至極⋯⋯而且場景又在臥室又在床上⋯⋯記得第一次聽這首歌時，還是個國中生⋯⋯有位同學介紹筆者聽〈Stay awhile 〉時⋯⋯癡癡地笑著說⋯⋯這首歌很「黃」喔⋯⋯。
