介紹這首抒情柔美的歌是一首翻唱歌曲，原唱是成立於英國的搖滾團Renaissance文藝復興合唱團，該團的音樂走向為古典/前衛搖滾，作品中有不少片段引用自古典音樂，鋼琴、管弦樂的運用經常是編曲主軸，一首曲子動輒十幾、二十分鐘的不在少數，而且他們擁有一位歌聲清亮甜美的女主唱 Annie Haslam 安妮海絲蘭，益使該團的作品卓然獨立於 70 年代的搖滾洪流之中……〈Ocean gypsy 〉海洋吉普賽 ，原本收錄在《 Scheherazade & Other Stories 天方夜譚與其他故事 》中，主唱安妮海絲蘭表示說，這首歌是文藝復興合唱團的所有作品中她最鍾愛的歌曲。
筆者收錄在自己的Apple Music資料庫裡的是Blackmore's Night這個團體翻唱版本，Blackmore's Night是一代吉他宗師 Ritchie Blackmore瑞奇布萊克摩爾於1997 年和妻子 Candice Night 所組成，瑞奇布萊克摩爾摒棄過往的重搖滾風格，投向中世紀民謠及文藝復興時期音樂的懷抱，在已推出的專輯中，兩人共同寫曲，由妻子主唱，歌曲內容多為中世紀歐洲的傳說故事，同時也翻唱不少風格相近或具有故事性的作品，〈Ocean gypsy 〉海洋吉普賽，收錄在二人 1997 年發行的首張專輯《 Shadow Of The Moon 》之中。
