這是著名的比吉斯合唱團為狄翁沃薇克所寫的歌，裡面還可以聽到該團三兄弟註冊商標似的優美合聲，狄昂渥薇克是美國極有份量的歌手，也是演員、主持人，1959 年出道至今，共有 56 首單曲進入全美百大單曲榜，得到過六座葛萊美獎，狄昂有位姪女於 1985 年踏進歌壇，隨即大紅特紫，就是後來紅遍全球的惠妮休斯頓。

Heartbreaker 推出單曲後，在全美百大單曲排行榜上最高名次為第 10 名，雖然沒有拿到冠軍，但是在紐西蘭、澳洲、歐洲許多國家都進入到前五名，全球共賣出超過 400 萬張，比許多冠軍曲的銷售成績還要好，狄昂渥薇克後來在專訪時承認，她其實不喜歡這首歌……「我並不熱衷這首曲子，但它最終成了白金唱片。我自己對挑選暢銷歌曲沒有準則，但我不想錄這首歌。」

因為信任比吉斯兄弟的判斷，她還是錄了這首歌 ，而事實證明這首歌的確成為她繼I'll never love this way again 之後最成功的個人單曲，大大提升了她的國際知名度，比吉斯兄弟在 1994 年演唱了"Heartbreaker ，原先是放在預備 1995 年發行的《 Love Songs 》專輯，但因故直到 2001 年才收錄在新版精選輯《  Their Greatest Hits: The Record 》。
