1982 年的專輯" Eye in the sky "，是他們有史以來最賣座的一張專輯，是張銷售破百萬張的白金專輯，這應歸功於同名單曲" Eye in the sky 天空之眼 "，這首歌在百大單曲榜上曾達到季軍席次，同樣是他們排行成績最高的單曲，這首曲子貌似情歌，其靈感卻是來自喬治歐威爾的科幻名著《一九八四》，書中未來的人們活在一個充滿監視攝影機的世界，一舉一動都受到老大哥( Big Brother)的嚴密監控。
除此之外，籌備前一張描述賭場人生百態的專輯時，Eric Woolfson 特地到賭城拉斯維加斯觀光，對賭場裡無處不在的監視攝影機印象十分深刻，也成了他日後寫這首歌的靈感來源。至於" Eye in the sky "這張專輯的封面，是古埃及文化中極具代表性的圖騰：Eye of Horus 荷魯斯之眼。
荷魯斯是古代埃及神話中的太陽神、法老的守護神，是王權的象徵，他的形象是鷹頭人身。根據神話，風暴之神賽特為了取代荷魯斯成為法老的守護神，他們之間發生了一場持續了長達八十年的戰鬥。在戰鬥中賽特挖出了荷魯斯的左眼，而後來經由月神托特的幫助，荷魯斯取回了他的眼睛，這便是荷魯斯之眼的由來。荷魯斯之眼被相信有治療和保護的能力，因此其符號被廣泛應用在護身符和墓室壁畫，及醫藥測量裝置上。
