蒼穹未央

聖艾摩之火，是1985年的〈七個畢業生〉電影主題曲（註），有關 St. Elmo's Fire，這是一種自古以來就常在航海時被海員觀察到的自然現象，經常發生於雷雨中，在如船隻桅杆頂端之類的尖狀物上，產生如火燄般的藍白色閃光，據悉～聖艾爾摩之火，也會出現在羊牛等牲畜的角尖，或任何尖銳物體上……聖艾爾摩之火的成因是一種電暈放電現象，這在大雷雨中很常見，超越了空氣的擊穿電壓，使得空氣成為了導體，並在導電的過程中放出強光……雖然名稱中有「火」這個字，但其實一點都不熱。

註：電影〈St. Elmo’s Fire〉台灣翻譯成〈七個畢業生〉，這是加拿大籍作曲家音樂製作人 David Foster 所作的第一部電影配樂……電影描述七位大學即將畢業的好友們的成長故事，這七位好朋友來自不同的背景，在畢業前各自面臨了自己的人生與情感抉擇……St. Elmo's Fire 也被用來象徵希望、守護或者神秘的力量，象徵～獻給即將進入人生賽道的畢業生們，希望他們能夠在職場上找到自己，摸索到未來的方向……。
